OVERVIEW
Salaries answers two questions that usually live in a spreadsheet: what each person earns this month, and what the team costs this year. The first is an editable table with gross pay, expenses to reimburse, the month's bonus and variable pay. The second is a report that actually prorates: somebody who joined on 16 July adds the months they were on payroll, not their whole annual figure. Available from the Starter plan; the annual budget is included from Professional.

History by stretches, not by last figure
Every pay change stores its effective date. A mid-month raise is prorated by days, and somebody off payroll for a month counts neither in the total nor in the average.
